Tamheed is a learning series and platform that grounds children in Arabic reading and Islamic upbringing. Dar Al-Tawhid children's education centres use the Tamheed platform to manage children, teachers and parents, through tamheededu.com and the Tamheed Android app. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Who uses it

  • Accounts are created only by a centre's administration: parents, teachers and staff. The app is not directed at children, and children do not use it themselves.

What we collect

  • Account data: name, email, phone number, and a password stored only as a bcrypt hash that nobody can read.
  • Child data entered by the centre or the parent: name, date of birth, gender, centre, class and level, attendance, assessments and notes, and health information a parent chooses to enter (such as allergies or medication).
  • Files and photos a user uploads (such as a birth certificate or a child's photo).
  • The device's push-notification token, to deliver attendance and message notifications.
  • We do not collect location or contacts, and we use no advertising or tracking SDKs.

Why

  • Only to run the centre: attendance, assessment, communication between the centre and parents, and notifications. We never sell data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • A child's data is visible only to their parent, their class teachers and their centre's administration.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf only: the hosting server that stores the database, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications (it receives only the device token and the notification text).
  • We share data with no one else unless the law requires it.

How we protect it

  • All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), and the app accepts only the server certificate issued by the expected certificate authority (certificate pinning).
  • The sign-in token on the phone is kept in the Android Keystore, and on-device data is wiped at sign-out.
  • Access is limited by role and by centre, and sensitive actions are recorded in an audit log.

Retention

  • Data is kept while the child is enrolled or the employee works at the centre. After that it is deleted on request, except enrolment records the centre is legally required to keep.

Your rights

  • You may view and correct your and your children's data in the app or through the centre, and request deletion of your account and its data.

Contact

  • For any privacy question, or to delete your account, use the Delete account page, contact your centre's administration directly, or call the Tamheed team on the numbers below.
